Selvaraghavan has finally made it! He has got the green signal from Kamal Haasan to direct his next flick. It was reported earlier that Selva and Kamal had met a few days ago and discussed the possibility of working together. When Selva gave him a storyline, Kamal was so impressed that he agreed to it.
It is now said that Kamal has begun the groundwork for this Selva-directed flick. As a beginning, we hear that Kamal is hitting the gym everyday to tone up his physique for the role. Music will be scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja for this project, which is yet to be titled.
Kamal Haasan's daughter Akshara Haasan is pursuing her elder sister Shruti's path and trying for opportunities in Bollywood. The 20-year old was initially interested in a position behind the camera but has now decided to try her hand at acting.
Akshara's mother Sarika, a veteran actress herself, is nurturing and introducing the wannabe actress to Bollywood biggies. Kamal Haasan had recommended Shruti to various directors. Now it's the mother in the act for her younger daughter.

Leading producer Udhayanidhi Stalin and his Red Giant Movies, have confirmed to the trade that the release date of their biggie Manmadhan Ambuworldwide on Thursday, December 23.
The film has Kamal Haasan, Madhavan, Trisha and Sangeetha in the lead and is directed by hit maker KS Ravikumar.
It has music by Devi Sri Prasad and is said to be a "romantic entertainer".
MA was earlier slated for release on December 17, but has been pushed to Dec 23 as the dubbing work on its Telugu version Manmadha Banam is still going on.
The film is likely to be censored sometime next week.
All rights for the film have been sold at very high prices. Last week Gokulam Gopalan producer of the classic Malayalam film Pazhassi Raja has taken over the Kerala theatrical rights.
The Christmas season is actually the best time to release a family entertainer as worldwide it is the major holiday season.
This will help MA to take an extraordinary opening, and with no strong opposition it is going to be a cake walk for Kamal & co.
Bharat Creation has acquired the USA and Canada distribution rights of Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan’s forthcoming Christmas release Manmadhan Ambu, at a new record price.
The film has Kamal Haasan, Madhavan, Trisha, Sangeetha and is directed by KS Ravikumar.
US and Canada is supposed to be Kamal's citadel. Bharat Creations has paid a record Rs 3 Crore for the US & Canada rights.
This price is almost double that was paid for Kamal's last hit Dasavatharam for the same territory.
Guna, a director of Bharat Creations said: "We are very happy to announce that we have acquired distribution rights of Kamal Haasan's Manmadhan Ambu for USA & Canada at a new record price. This movie has very high expectations among audiences here and with Kamal sir's huge fan base is going to be a guaranteed winning combination."
After the audio-launch of superstar Rajnikanth’s ‘Enthiran: The Robot’ was held in Malaysia, it’s now the turn of the Kamal Haasan-Madhavan-Trisha starrer ‘Manmadhan Ambu’. Yes, the film’s music is all set to be launched in Malaysia’s rich neighbour Singapore on 20th of November.
The hi-profile producer of the film, Udhayanidhi Stalin, has made elaborate plans to beam live the Singapore event at a five-star hotel (Royal Le Meridien) in Chennai where journalists can sit back in a relaxed manner and enjoy the event. After the audio-launch, arrangements have also been made for Kamal Haasan to be talking to the journos in Chennai through the ‘video-conferencing’ facility.
The film ‘Manmadhan Ambu’ has been directed by K.S Ravikumar and brings together Kamal Haasan and Trisha for the first time together. Madhavan & Sangeetha, who played the lead role in ‘Evano Oruvan’ a couple of years ago, also play significant roles in ‘Manmadhan Ambu’. The film has created huge excitement among Kamal Haasan and Trisha’s fans.
Kamal has also penned the story, dialogue and screenplay of the film besides singing a few songs of the film. The film has been shot widely and extensively in Rome, Venice, Paris, Barcelona and aboard a luxurious cruise which floats permanently in the waters of Mediterranean Sea. There were reports that after their super hit combo in around seven films, South Indian superstars Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth will join hands once again in master film maker Shankar's big budget project to be made by prestigious Sun Pictures with a whopping Rs. 500 crores budget in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi!
But it proved to be a baseless rumour, when Kamal Haasan personally denied this rumour during a press conference held in Hyderabad on Thursday to announce the forthcoming Media and Entertainment Business Conclave (MEBC) 2010, commencing from December 1.
When asked, he said: "Am I doing a film with Rajinikanth? I don't know what you are talking about." He added that he came to Hyderabad with director Shankar in the same flight, but the director did not speak anything about the project.

Synopsis
Manmadhan Ambu is a forthcoming Tamil romantic comedy film directed by K. S. Ravikumar.Madhavan plays the role of Madhan and Trisha plays the role of Ambujam.Madhan who is deeply in love with the actress Ambujam wants to confirm whether she is also madly in love with him. So he appoints a private detective, a role played by kamal Hassan.
Kamal goes behind Trisha and befriends her during shooting in a cruise boat. This makes Kamal’s pair Sangeetha worry about his partner. Finally Madhavan explains the whole trauma to Sangeetha and everything ends well.
