After Siruthai Karthi’s next?

After the stupendous success of ‘Siruthai’, Karthi is taking his time to decide on his next. While the production house is almost confirmed to be his Green Studios, the director has not been decided yet.

 

As per latest news available with us, directors Boopathy Pandian and Jagan are trying their best to convince Karthi.

Boopathy Pandian was fairly successful in his combination with Dhanush. Their films together like ‘Devathayai Kanden’ and ‘Thiruvilayadal Arambam’ were big boosts to Dhanush in his early days. However Boopathy Pandian’s last film ‘Kadhal Solla Vandhen’ failed to evoke interest in spite of some good music from Yuvan Shankar Raja.

On the other hand Jagan is waiting for another good one to prove his mettle after his decent debut in ‘Raman Thediya Seethai’.  Even the almost there ‘Ilaignan’ missed his hands last year.

Simbu or Karthi in Dabangg remake?

Dabangg is setting new records not only in Bollywood, but also in Tamil and Telugu. With Dabangg opening to an overwhelming response, the enthusiasm to acquire the Tamil and Telugu remake rights has increased overnight. In fact, producer Arbaaz has already received several lucrative offers for the same.

The latest buzz is that Kollywood producers Mohan Apparao and T. Ramesh have purchased the remake rights of Dabangg for a whopping amount, the highest ever paid for a remake. Sources say that they are in talks with Karthi and Simbu to play the role of Chulbul Pandey. But the grapevine has it that Simbu is likely to star in this comedy-action musical entertainer.

Karthi’s won appreciation from his sister-in-law!

Karthi’s performance in his recent release ‘Siruthai’, in which he performed dual role for the first time in his acting career, has won appreciation from his sister-in-law Jyothika.

“Anni said long back that she would watch the film on the first day itself since I am playing a police officer. Sticking to her words, she watched ‘Siruthai’ on the very first day,” Karthi says.

“She thoroughly enjoyed the movie,” the actor says and adds: “She sent me congratulatory messages through mobile even before the show got over. I am overwhelmed.”

On the possibilities of his acting together with his brother Suriya, Karthi says, “I don’t think we would share the screen space in the near future. Because, he is busy for the next two years. And several other factors have also to be considered.”

Karthi’s marriage will take place soon!

One question that looms large on Karthi is about his wedding. This hot and happening hero of Kollywood had refuted all rumors about his relationship with his co-star Tamannah and said that his family is looking for a suitable match for him.

When questioned about this during a recent interview, the actor once again reiterated that a hunt is on to find him a bride but his parents are yet to zero in on one. However, Karthi added that his marriage will take place soon. Can we expect the star to enter into wedlock in 2011?

Siruthai is almost ready

Most part of ‘Siruthai’, Karthi Sivakumar’s forthcoming film, has been shot and the film is fast getting ready for a Pongal release. “It is going to be an action extravaganza for this harvest festival,” sources claim.

Produced by Studio Green, the film is a remake of Tollywood blockbuster ‘Vikramakudu’ which had Ravi Teja in dual roles with Anushka playing the heroine.

The Tamil version, directed by Siva, will have Karthi and Tamanna replacing Ravi Teja and Anushka respectively. “This is first time for Karthi to play a double role and he has performed it with ease and style,” sources say.

“In a particular song sequence, Karthi appears in nine getups which are going to be a treat for his fans. Besides, a lot of importance is given to stunt sequences and the second half will be full of twists and action,” they add.

Karthi adopts Tiger

A campaign by Suriya to save tigers is having an impact on his younger brother Karthi, so to say. On Monday, the actor adopted a white tiger cub at the Aringar Anna Zoological Park at Vandalur on the outskirts of Chennai.

The actor visited the zoo along with his niece Diya, daughter of Suriya, and expressed his willingness to adopt the tiger cub, which is a star attraction of the zoological park thousands by thousands every day.

He handed over a cheque for Rs 77,000 to the Member Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Zoo Authority R Sundaravelu towards the food and maintenance of Namratha, the white tiger cub which he adopted.

The actor, who is currently playing the lead role in a film titled ‘Siruthai’, said, “Protecting a tiger is like protecting the forest itself. I am a wildlife enthusiast right from my childhood and I am happy to have the opportunity to sponsor a tiger”.

Karthi and Tamanna pair up again!

Actor Karthi and Tamanna pair up again, after their successful movie Paiyaa, in Siruthai. Directed by Siva, Siruthai is the remake of Telugu movie Vikramarkudu. Recently, the lead pair, Karthi and Tamanna were seen romancing in the outskirts of the city in Mayajaal. For the movie of course! The shooting for Siruthai is currently going on in Mayajaal and Karthi, in a red shirt and blue jeans and Tamanna, in a white dress, were romancing for the film.

With Endhiran due to be released this Friday, the unit is working doubly hard to wrap the shoot as quickly as possible. Interestingly, Karthi, after four successive hits, will be seen in a dual role for the first time in his career.

Naan Mahaan Alla release date announced

Naan Mahaan Alla, the Karthi starrer, is all set to be released on August 20th. The film is distributed by Cloud Nine Movies and produced by Gnanavel Raja. Director Sussendran is upbeat about Naan Mahaan Alla and says that it will be another feather on Karthi’s cap.

Kajal Agarwal plays the female lead in this film. Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the music for Naan Mahan Alla.

Karthi reveals his marriage plans

Actor Karthi Sivakumar, probably the most eligible bachelor in Tamil filmdom, opened up on his marriage plans at the audio launch of his forthcoming film 'Naan Mahaan Alla' in Chennai.

"I will marry the girl of my parent's choice and there is no place for romance in my life," the actor said, adding: "I am thrilled to be part of the movie which is set in the city and loaded with action and humour".

In his address, music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja thanked all for their support and expressed confidence that the songs would become big hits. A couple of songs were also screened on the occasion.

Among those who were present were director Lingusamy, Suseendran, Kajal Agarwal and Dhayanidhi Alagiri of Cloud Nine Movies.

The movie starring Karthi and Kajal Agarwal in the lead roles, is directed by Suseendran of 'Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu' fame and produced by K E Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green Films. It will be released by Cloud Nine Movies.

Karthi’s ‘Paiyaa’ completes 100 days

Lingusamy’s ‘Paiyaa’ has successfully completed 100 days of run and is still going strong. The youthful road film released on April 2 is one of the few block busters of the year.

‘Paiyaa’ is the first road movie in Tamil deftly handled by Lingusamy. His fast paced narration and the excellent music from Yuvan Shankara Raja made the film shift to top gear at the box office from the second week itself. Yuvan’s songs are still topping the music charts even after 9 weeks.

Karthik scored a hat trick and Tamanna got her first real hit in ‘Paiyaa’. The chemistry between the lead actors is well noticed by all and they are now considered a popular Jodi preferred by film makers. Cinematography by Madhi and editing by Antony are big strengths of Lingusamy in this film.

Producers Dayanidhi Alagiri and Vivek Rathinavel have obtained Karthi’s Naan Mahan Alla. The film has Kajal Agarwal playing Karthi’s love-interest and Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the music.

 

In a recent press release, Dayanidhi Alagiri and Vivek Rathinavel are quoted as saying, “We are happy to be associated with this prestigious project produced by Studio Green. We love working with Karthi and it was a good experience in Paiya too. We appreciate his selection of projects and we are confident that this film will become a bigger hit than Paiya.”
