Endhiran story controversy
Author Amudha Tamilnaadan, who has claimed that the story of superstar Rajinikanth’s latest offering ‘Enthiran: The Robot’ was written by her a few years ago, met the police yesterday and submitted her evidence in support of claim that the story was hers.
Authors Amudha and Arnica Nasser have separately filed a case with the police claiming that the story of ‘Enthiran’ was theirs. Amudha has also filed a suit with Chennai High Court claiming a compensation of Re.1 crore from the producers (read Sun Pictures) for ‘having used’ her script without seeking her prior permission.
Amudha has said that the story of ‘Enthiran’ has been ‘lifted’ from her story which was published in the journal ‘Iniya Udhayam’ way back in the year 1996 and has added that Shankar had ‘cleverly’ refurbished the story to suit the needs of celluloid. The crime branch has now taken over the investigations into the case.
Shankar had submitted a written explanation saying that the story was based on the novel ‘En Iniya Iyandhira’ penned by the late author Sujatha. Deposing before the anti-video piracy wing of the CB-CID at the Police Commissioner’s, Office, Amudha submitted copies of the journal ‘Iniya Udhayam’ published in 1996 which carried her story ‘Juguba’.
After verbally explaining her stance in the matter, Amudha left the COP’s office.

The Endhiran Complete 50 Days!
Endhiran was released on October 1, 2010 and has successfully completed 50 days in 145 Theaters.
The movie which is touted to be the costliest film in Asian region is also the highest grosser in India.
Endhiran is said to have collected more than 350 crores of rupees so far and its distributor share alone stands at 120 crores, which by any yardstick is a mere magic. Bollywood movie ’3 Idiots’ is the only movie which comes close to the feat of Endhiran.
As a dubbing movie what endhiran did is a wonder. It has collected more than 30 crores of rupees.
Endhiran crosses 50 days in Andhra, Kerala, Malaysia & Singapore!
Endhiran completing 50 days in 160 theatres in tamilnadu is not a great news, say critics. But they too were awe struck about the feat the movie has done in other states like Kerala and Andhra.
As per the sources 50th day poster of any dubbed movie or original tamil version movie, other than native language movies, crossing 50 days and its poster being pasted on walls is happening after a long time.
Even in south asian countries like singapore and malaysia Endhiran has successfully completed its 50 day run. Though it is undeniable that a considerable amount of tamilians live in those countries, endhiran completing 50 days in many a theater is a matter for wonder.
In malaysia alone the movie is still running in 15 theatres while it runs in Rex and Golden theatres in singapore.
Canada and UK are two of the very prominent western countries where majority of the population consists of white people. Even in these countries endhiran has crossed 50 days. This is something which must be cherished by tamil people.
As rajini aptly pointed out that he would act only in those movies which will bring honour and pride to the tamil/indian people, the movie is just doing the same.
Rajinikanth’s Enthiran a wonderful opening
Rajinikanth’s Enthiran has taken a super opening on day one worldwide. The film took a 100 percent opening from Gurgaon multiplexes in Harayana to Nagercovil. In overseas markets it sizzled.
Enthiran has taken the best ever paid previews in UK and US, on Thursday night surpassing the collections of any Hindi films in 2010. In Mumbai the film has taken flying opening. The Telugu version has also been declared a hit.
In Tamil Nadu, Enthiran has taken the best ever single day opening for any film in history, while in Kerala from 128 screens the film has opened bigger than a Mohanlal or Mammootty film.
The North Indian media has gone crazy about Rajinikanth. All news channels like, NDTV, Times Now, CNN IBN and Headlines Today conducted half an hour “Robot-Special” with their entertainment editors flying in from Delhi and Mumbai to capture the Rajinikanth phenomena in Chennai on release day.
Never before in history has a dubbed film Robot, got so many stars in the raving reviews appearing in print, television and internet in the North Indian media. Please note in the past these very same North journalists and media houses could never stomach the success of south Indian films. In fact many channels went to the extreme of trashing Ranbir Kapoor’s Anjaane Anjaani and praising Robot to the skies.

‘Enthiran’ breaks record in USA
The ‘Enthiran’ storm has started blowing USA. The Rajinikanth-Aishwarya starer has set new North American record in the advance booking arena.
'Enthiran' is opening on October 1 all over the world including USA. But the tickets for the first week were a sell out within ten minutes of the advance booking counter opening.
The record breaking event happened at the Jackson Heights in New York. Usually the advance booking starts for a Hollywood film only a week before the release of the film. But the advance booking for ‘Enthiran’ started two weeks before and even then it was a record sell out.
‘Enthiran’ is the Indian film of the year which generated unprecedented pre-release expectations. The magnum opus of Sun Pictures is releasing on October 1 in over 3000 screens around the world. ‘Enthiran- The Robot’ is releasing in India, USA, UK, Europe, Malaysia, Singapore& Australia in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages.
Rajini’s fans pray for the success of ‘Enthiran’!
Rajini fans are always ready to do anything for their ‘Thalaivar’. A section of them proved this once again on Saturday, when they climbed the 1,305 steps of the renowned Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Sholingur on their knees to pray for the success of ‘Enthiran’.
Cutting across age barriers, nearly 500 ardent fans of the Superstar climbed the Arulmighu Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy shrine atop the hills by their knees, Saturday evening.
“Saturday is one of the auspicious days for the Lord here. So we decided to take this spiritual endeavour today praying for the success of ‘Enthiran’. It took little more than three hours for us to reach the sanctum sanctorum from the foothills”, one of the office bearers of a Rajini fan club said.
The fans also raised slogans in praise of Rajini and conducted special pujas for their matinee idol and the film. “We are eagerly waiting for October 1, the day our Thalaivar film will be released”, they said in chorus.
Endhiran Release date Worldwide…
It is official that the release of Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer Endhiran(Robo) has been confirmed to be October 1 in India and across the world including USA, UK, Europe,Malaysia, Singapore and Australia.
Sun Pictures, a division of Sun TV Network, in a statement said: “The film will now release in theatres in India and across the world including USA, UK, Europe,Malaysia, Singapore and Australia on October 1 in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages.”
Endhiran rights not sold
The makers of superstar Rajinikanth's Shankar directed fantasy flick Robot (Enthiran in Tamil) have denied the claim of Telugu producer Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao (of Sri Tirumala Tirupathi Venkateshwara Films) that he purchased the Telugu dubbing rights of Robot for a whopping Rs. 30 crores.
SUN Pictures officials have confirmed that they had not sold the Telugu rights to anyone so far. Meanwhile, it is heard that Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao has paid only a token amount and the actual settlement is expected to happen in a few days.
If other reports are to be believed, Endhiran, which was expected to grace screens on September 3, has been postponed to September 24 because of the last minute patchwork. The film will release in 2000 screens worldwide.

South Indian superstar Rajinikanth's much-awaited fantasy flick Endhiran (Robot), being directed by Shankar with Aishwarya Rai as the heroine, was expected to grace screens on September 3. But according to latest reports, the film has been postponed to September 24 because of last minute patchworks.
“Endhiran has 1500 graphical shots – a record in Indian cinema. If a movie has heavy graphics works like this, obviously it would be delayed," a source commented. There are reports that the film will release in 2000 screens worldwide, the highest ever for a Tamil film. With a budget of Rs. 200 crores, Endhiran is also the costliest Tamil film ever made.
After the release of Endhiran, Rajinikanth may take a break and then commence the works of his daughter Soundarya's animation film Sultan - The Warrior, which has been in the making for the last couple of years.
Endhiran Movie Party Stills – Kalanidhi Maran
The producer of Endhiran, Kalanidhi Maran threw a big party for the Endhiran crew after the completion of the movie in the presence of Central minister Dayanidhi Maran. Super Star Rajinikanth, Director Shankar, DOP Rathnavelu, Resul Pookutty, editor Antony and others were present at the party. After the party was over Shankar told reporters that “We shared all the interesting stories related to the making of the film with Mr. Maran. It was a memorable day for all of us”.
